Here I am on Saturday, September 21st with Sue Middleton, a former Head Teacher who founded and runs the Boston Book Festival (that’s the original Boston in Lincs – not the one in America).
People like Sue deserve a prize for their contribution to literature and to literacy. She started the festival in 2022, post- pandemic, and has made such a success of it that there’s even a crime writers offshoot in June.
As so often with book festivals, a large proportion of the time is devoted to children’s books and enthusing kids about reading, hence my reference to literacy.
My session was ‘adults only’ given that it was about ‘Death on the Thames’; a welcome discussion about my fiction before festival activity turns to my biography of Harold Wilson – which is published on Thursday, September 26th.
