Lincoln

April 6, 2020

This is what the world looked like before coronavirus – just before actually; the day we finished the nationwide ‘In My Life’ tour at Lincoln New Theatre. Not only did we do a theatre event where all 130 ticket holders turned up, but Carolyn and I had a pre-show dinner in Carluccio’s.

The following day the Prime Minister announced lockdown which put paid to all live performances, and within a week or so Carluccio’s was forced into administration. The theatre was in the wonderful maze of streets under the walls of the magnificent Cathedral. In all our 50-odd shows we’ve not been in a more lovely theatre or had the pleasure of meeting such a helpful bunch of volunteers.

It was a brilliant setting for the end of the tour and as it was only an hour from home I was able to sleep in my own bed.
