This is not two elderly former politicians seeking redemption – it’s me and Chris Mullin at the Morpeth Literary Festival.

Founded in 2022, this weekend of events now attracts top writing talent – as well as me and Chris.

We chatted happily about Harold Wilson and the Mullin diaries before a full congregation on Sunday evening at the end of a wonderful stay in this vibrant Northumbrian town.

Chris stayed to do another event afterwards whilst Carolyn and I drove home to Yorkshire determined to come to this beautiful corner of England again.
