On Wednesday I signed the contract that options the screen rights for ‘The Late Train to Gipsy Hill’ to a production company called ItWorx. The company belongs to actress Michelle Collins (Cindy Beale in Eastenders but also so many other parts in a stellar acting career). I see Michelle as being perfect to play my detective, Louise Mangan. Decisions like that will be for others to make but the deal allows BBC Studios to press ahead with their plans to convert the book to a six-part TV series.
Here I am at the Grays Inn Road offices of my literary agents, Aitken Alexander, where Lesley Thorne did all the due diligence stuff so expertly on my behalf. It was a moment that was exciting enough to share.
