The other grey heads either side of mine are Tim Hubbard who chaired the event and, on my left, the brilliant Simon Mason, author of the DI Ryan Wilkins novels. Our session was titled ‘Turning to Crime’ which describes what Simon and I have done – but only in the literary sense.
Stratford upon Avon hosts one of my favourite festivals. The professionalism of the organising team is always exemplary and they excelled themselves this year when a fire at the main festival hotel necessitated a complete reorganisation of venues.
Tim interviewed me and Simon with skill and empathy bringing out the best in us and the audience.
