Rossiter Books

October 8, 2018

To the Savoy Theatre in Monmouth, the Welsh town in which an English King was born.

King Henry actually gets a mention in the book – in a piece about the Bay City Rollers!

The town looks beautiful in the late September sunshine and my event has been organised by a fabulous independent bookshop, so I’m feeling particularly benign upon arrival.

The only problem is that we can’t find our digs for the night.

As I stand looking lost and lonely along comes Andy, manager of Rossiter Books to rescue me.

The digs are next to his shop and a few yards from the amazing theatre where I’m due to perform at 7pm.

I’m interviewed by Helfina Rendle who worked for BBC Wales for many years as a political correspondent.

We have a whale of a time and afterwards find a great Italian Trattoria for dinner. The perfect end to a great day.
